Mr. Cooper Group has announced the appointment of Mike Weinbach as president, effective Feb. 1, with responsibility for leading the company’s operations, including the Originations, Servicing and Technology teams. Most recently, he served as CEO of consumer lending for Wells Fargo and as a member of the firm’s Operating Committee. Previously, he served as CEO of Chase Home Lending at JP Morgan Chase, where he also held leadership roles in Consumer Banking, Business Banking, Mortgage Servicing and Auto Finance.
The National Association of Realtors has announced that Kevin Sears has stepped into the role of NAR president. Sears is the broker-owner of Sears Real Estate and specializes in single-family brokerage and property management. He has served in numerous leadership positions at the local, state and national association levels, including 16 years as a member of the NAR Board of Directors and 23 years as a federal political coordinator. He also served as 2010 president of the Massachusetts Association of Realtors.
Certainty Home Lending recently named Ben Lerner and Bill Mott to lead its branch operation in San Luis Obispo, California. Lerner and Mott will expand Certainty Home Lending’s geographic footprint in the California Central Coast marketplace. Mott, who will serve as originating branch manager, has served in the mortgage origination industry since 2002. Lerner, who will serve as the producing branch manager. Brings more than two decades in the mortgage lending industry to the role.
Trez Capital has announced the appointment of John L. Creswell as executive managing director, global head of capital raising. As a new member of Trez Capital’s U.S. based executive leadership team, Creswell will lead the Toronto-based capital raising team, developing and executing the firm’s capital raising strategy across all distribution channels, including institutional, retail, and private wealth, throughout all global markets. Before joining Trez Capital, Creswell served as executive managing director at Duff & Phelps Investment Management Co. and also worked for BNP Paribas Asset Management N.A., leading business and corporate development.
Logan Finance Corporation has added Dave Weatherford as sales director. Weatherford brings over 20 years of industry experience in wholesale and correspondent lending; before joining Logan Finance, he held senior sales leadership roles with Loan Stream Mortgage, Finance of America, Guaranty Home Mortgage, and NewRez Wholesale Lending.
Enterprise Community Partners has announced that Kari Downes will become president of its housing credit investments business effective April 1. Downes, who currently serves as Enterprise Housing Credit Investments’ executive vice president, will also serve as a member of the leadership team of Enterprise’s Capital division, which collectively oversees a $16.6 billion affordable housing and community development investment platform.
